A stepped configuration of the plate edges can be a real advantage, most especially when we find many transversal lines in the web direction of the blade design. In these cases we usually need to apply a higher pressure on the cylinder to obtain a satisfactory performance but this affects the working life of the die and creates more mistakes during production. That’s why we recommend these special shaped dies, because they require a much lower pressure to work.
